Help and hope for everyone

Everyone, at some point in their lives, is affected by grief. It has no endpoint. There is no linear path for grief. Individuals alike are affected in many different ways.

Over the past decade, the Nova Scotia Hospice Palliative Care Association (NSHPCA) has broadened its work to raise awareness and understanding of grief. Today, NSHCPA works through Healing Pathways to help fund community-based initiatives supporting people in grief and emotional wellness.

The NSHPCA is responsible for distributing funding to support eligible nonprofit groups or organizations to develop and/or implement community-based initiatives that align with the objectives of the NS Community Grief Response Strategy, and address community needs.

In June 2024, Healing Pathways Community Funding launched Phase One, supporting nonprofit organizations in Colchester, East Hants, and Cumberland Counties. Through this phase, NSHPCA successfully allocated $304,274 in funding within these communities.

Phase Two expanded the initiative province-wide, delivering $635,879 to nonprofit organizations across Nova Scotia.

Coming soon, Phase Three will provide an additional $700,000 in funding to further support community-led initiatives throughout the province.

Developed by the Nova Scotia Hospice Palliative Care Association, Healing Pathways – Grieving Well connects users to trusted resources, including grief education, support services, and peer communities.
